With over 50 years of business under its belt, TEL is an established name in its industry, specialising in electronic airflow controls for laboratory and industrial environments.
One of the reasons – perhaps the biggest reason – that we have gone from strength to strength during this time, is because of our committed, dedicated and hardworking team.
As it started as a family business, TEL has always had a close-knit team, and this is still the case 52 years later. There are 146 years of combined experience between the current staff, with the longest-serving team member having been with us for a staggering 36 years.
TEL actually began life in Rochdale, before relocating to Glossop in 2011 and we’re thrilled that four of the original Rochdale staff are still with us – their knowledge and expertise is invaluable. They understand our products inside out (they helped design and manufacture them after all) and their innovation and desire to upgrade and expand TEL’s product line means that we’re constantly improving and bringing their new ideas to life.
We’re constantly improving ourselves too, both individually and as a company, whether it’s by keeping up to date with our Construction Industry Training Board certification so we can safely operate site visits, or by sending multiple staff members on first aid courses to maintain the highest health and safety levels that we can, we place much value on staff training and personal development.
And we try our best to look after our team too. For example, last year, the management team extended the company’s (paid) Christmas holiday period, so that the hard-working team could spend more time with their family after what was a very difficult period. TEL believes that if the staff are happy, they’ll produce great work – which they do – and the management team would like to extend a huge thanks to all staff for their high-quality work and great results.
As Sharon Leigh, TEL’s Financial Manager says, “It’s just a great place to work.” We’re really happy with that!
