Up to £635 million of funding has been ringfenced for public sector organisations so they can install energy efficiency measures and low carbon heating, as part of a £2.5 billion total government funding for upgrading public buildings.
734 grants have already been awarded across England during phases 1, 2 and 3a of the scheme, with an estimated 243,000 tonnes of carbon savings in the financial year 2021/22.
Upgrading from a CAV to a VAV controller can reduce energy usage by up to 85% as it reduces the volume of air taken from the fume cupboard when it is not being used. Check out our case studies for more details. With funding available this month, now could be the perfect time to upgrade.
Phase 3b of the funding, available through the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme, is due to open September 2022. You can find more information on the Salix website here.
